A few days ago, I had the awesome privilege of sharing Christ with someone who was sent to my office to take care of some business for her employer. What started out as a conversation about work turned into the most precious gift anyone could receive: She ended up giving her life to Christ. What an honor it was for me, as I witnessed the birth of a new Christian!
In preparation for the call that would result in this transformation, I started to go through my Bible (one of many). I was surprised to see how the Lord had already been laying the groundwork for such a time as this (Esther 4:14).

Speak, Lord
Tweet
One Sunday almost two years ago, my pastor's wife was teaching Sunday Bible Training. She paused during the session to give the congregation a message from the Lord. She instructed each of us to buy a journal and start writing down the things that God tells us. Whether they be dreams or words spoken through someone that the Lord uses, we should write it down. She was so passionate about the message that she even offered to buy a journal for whoever could not afford one. It was just that important.
My personal experience with dreams and visions goes back about two and a half decades and started with a dream about someone I knew being pregnant, and the baby was a girl.

When it Gets Down to It
Tweet
Have you ever had a song, a piece of music, touch you in such a way as to bring you near or to tears each time you hear it? Have you ever listened to a song and just wanted to lift your hands and praise God for the Magnificent Being that He is? Have you EVER listened to a song that literally brought you into the presence of a personal worship that you just didn't want to come out of? The words in Fred Hammond's When it Gets Down to It have done that just about every time I've played it.

Power of Prayer
Tweet
Much can be said about the power of prayer, but unless one has experienced God's answered prayers, that person really might not know just how meaningful those words - the power of prayer - really are.
Today I had the pleasure and privilege to speak words at a birthday party for a very special 70-year-old. Before I stood to speak, I had heard one guest describe the birthday woman's prayer life.

The Joy of the Lord
Tweet
Many times, I've found myself indulging in "pity parties", those times when things weren't going the way I wanted them to, or when my heart was broken, or when I wanted something I couldn't have or afford, or when I was just having a bad day. On those occasions, I didn't want to speak to anyone, and sometimes didn't even want to go out of the house. Years ago, it was so bad that I would do whatever I could to avoid people, because that would often remind me of what I was missing, didn't have, wanted, needed, longed for and hoped for. Looking at the success of my some of my friends, I compared my life to theirs, thinking that they somehow "had it all together."
