Got Wisdom?

Tweet In 2 Chronicles 1:7-12, God appeared to King Solomon, son of King David, and told him to "Ask for whatever you want me to give you." Solomon could have asked for ANYTHING he wanted - wealth, long life, power, anything - and what did he ask God for? WISDOM! And God being the just and faithful God was so pleased that King Solomon asked for wisdom to govern God's people, that he was given GREAT wisdom and knowledge. But God didn't stop there.

"You're Doing Too Much!"

Tweet On more than one occasion, I have had individuals tell me that I spend too much time in church, that I give too much in tithes and offerings, that church is too controlling, that I should be out having fun "like everybody else". I've been scoffed at when I mentioned attending 5AM prayer, or especially when I tell people that I frequently get out of bed at 2AM to pray. I've had people literally laugh in my face when I tell them how God has completely healed me of such issues as a serious lung problem (read my testimony here) and a back injury that some have mentioned surgery as possibly being the answer. And when I tell coworkers that I make a regular practice of retreating to the workplace restroom to pray when I'm feeling particularly overwhelmed or can't figure out a complicated problem - and that God gives me the solutions - they look at me as though I'm speaking a foreign language.
The truth is, I can’t afford NOT to live for God.

Signs of the Times

Tweet On May 16, 2010, a Hail Storm Hits Oklahoma City, a storm unlike anything many of us have ever seen. As you watch the video, consider all the disasters and turmoil, natural and man-made, that this world has experienced recently - earthquakes, volcanos, tornadoes, riots, economic meltdown, lack of compassion, greed, the oil gushing in the Gulf of Mexico, etc. The Bible warns of these types of events in Matthew 24. In Guatemala, at this very moment, a volcano is errupting and fears of impending rain add to the concerns of a disaster on top of a disaster. [UPDATE: On Tuesday, June 1, a massive 300'-deep sinkhole opened up in Guatemala, resultant of the above-mentioned rains]. Can it be any more obvious that we are not in control - that God is? I have NEVER seen anything like what happened in the video linked above.
